Genesect has one weakness, Fire. Now he still has that fire weakness, only it's 2X, and not 4X. Awesome.

Special:

Genesect @ Life Orb

Trait: Download

EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd

Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

- Thunder
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Water]
- Bug Buzz

Thunder is there for awesome coverage, gets rain boost! Ice Beam completes bolt-beam coverage.
HP Water gets rain boost, and covers his only weakness, while Bug Buzz is STAB.
This is probably my most reccomended set.

Physical:

Genesect @ Choice Band

Trait: Download

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd

Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)

- U-turn
- Shadow Claw
- Frustration
- Metal Claw

Uh.. I really couldn't give you a good reason to use this set.
U-Turn scouts, + Choice band damage is deadly.
Everything else is crappy coverage, but Metal Claw may boost your attack.

Overall, just go Special, and you're a top dog, total beast.

Rating for the rain - 9/10

Try

Genesect @ Douse Drive
Trait: Download
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Speed
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
-Techno Blast
-Thunder
-Ice Beam
-Bug Buzz

Just switch HP Water for Techno Blast, Its stronger. And when holding Douse Drive, Techno Blast will be Water type, so it will get a rain boost.
Thunder doesn't get a rain boost, it gets more accuracy.

The drives and Techno Blast didn't work in PO last time I tried them, it stayed a low power normal type attack.

But either way, that addition still might work for ingame.. but oh wait! Genesect hasn't been released for B/W yet.

Actually, it does work, I just tested on PO. However, it is not called Douse Drive but called "Aqua Cassette."

It doesn't matter even if it does work. You might add more base power, but you do so at the cost of a useful item. HP Water and a good item is better.
